I run a small salon. Is this kind of software even meant for me?

Does it work without internet?
Yes. CutBooks works offline — keep logging entries even when the shop's network drops, and everything syncs automatically the moment you're back online. A weak signal never blocks your day.
Is my customer data safe? Can my staff see every phone number?
Your customer list is yours alone — staff can't open it. And you decide exactly what a staff member can see of a customer's number: nothing at all (the default), just the last 4 digits, or the full number — your call, per salon. Staff still see what they need to serve the customer well — the name, visit history and last visit date — without seeing the phone number unless you turn it on. Your data is encrypted, stored on servers in India, and you can export or delete it anytime.
Who owns my customers — can CutBooks sell my data or market to them?
They're yours, not ours. CutBooks never contacts your customers, and never sells or shares their details with anyone.
Will it work on my phone or computer, and is it hard to learn?
It runs on any Android phone and is built to be as simple as the paper register it replaces — type the amount, pick the payment, save. No training, no manual. Prefer a big screen? CutBooks also works in the web browser on your computer — same account, everything syncs automatically. Android + web at launch; an iPhone app follows. Available in Hindi, English, Hinglish and 10 more Indian languages.
Can I track my staff and their salary?
Yes — for free. Record attendance, advances and leave, and at month-end CutBooks works out each person's pay (base + commission − advances) in plain language. Fewer arguments, no late-night maths.
I work at a salon — is CutBooks for me too?
Absolutely. CutBooks is free to start, so you can download it and keep your own private book — log your daily entries and see what you've earned — even if your salon owner doesn't use the app yet. And if your salon already runs on CutBooks, the owner can simply add you to the shop's books.
What are WhatsApp receipts — do they cost extra?
A clean digital bill with your salon's name, sent to the customer on WhatsApp — it looks professional and brings people back. On paid plans they run on simple credit packs: ₹99 for 200 sends — pay once, they never expire. You only buy them if you choose to send receipts.
How is this different from a paper register or a ledger app?
A paper register can't do your maths, remind a customer about udhaar, calculate staff salary or send a WhatsApp bill — CutBooks does all of it, and keeps your entries safe even if a page goes missing. It's built only for salons, parlours, barbers, spas and nail studios — not a generic ledger.
